Megan N. Liberty is an arts writer, editor, and archivist based in Brooklyn.
I am interested in artists’ books and ephemera in the digital age, the archive, and other intersections of text and image. My writing investigates printed media in digital culture, self-publishing and zines, collage, scrapbooks, comics, and artists' books and writings.
I am the Art Books section editor at the Brooklyn Rail, where I commission and edit all the section content. Additionally, my writing appears in Hyperallergic, where I have been a regular contributor since 2015, Artforum.com, ArtReview, Frieze, NY Review of Books Daily, LA Review of Books, White Review, Art in Print, Afterimage: the Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism, Journal of Artists’ Books, and elsewhere. I have led and participated in public conversations on artists’ books and publishing at MoMA PS1 as part of the Contemporary Artists’ Book Conference and as part of the Recto/Verso programming series, and at the Brooklyn Rail as part of the Guest Critic Series.
